The best travel camera is the one that combines portability, versatility, and image quality. Size and ease of use are crucial if you want to enjoy your excursions without being charged with the camera kit, but at the same time, you want a camera that can take great photos Or VIDEOS that do justice to the places you visit.
Olympus Tough TG-6
So we conclude our list with something very different. For some travelers, the only important thing is a camera that can carry water, ice, dust, rain, and even impacts. Olympus TG-6 may not have the zoom range or large sensors from other cameras on our list, but if travel photography is based on adventure rather than sightseeing, then the TG-6 could be better. With its waterproof, shockproof, shockproof, and antifreeze design, the TG-6 will stand up to much misuse of the average compact size, but not only its rugged credentials are impressive. 4K primary shooting and video recording are two rare types on waterproof CDs, while the pixel count on a 12MP sensor has been deliberately reduced compared to the previous model so that it produces better quality images with less noise. It was a brave move from Olympus, but it was also refreshing. The new microscope and underwater modes are improving specifications compared to older TG-5 devices, which you can still find in stock at some stores.
Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II
Canon makes several compact cameras with a 1-inch sensor, and the G9 X Mark II is the smallest. 98.0 x 57.9 x 31.3 mm and 206 g, it is quite compact, so you really need to grab it to estimate how small this camera is. This means that the rear display is dominated by the 3-inch display, so the physical buttons are few and do not include a typical four-way navigation dial. The small dimensions also mean that you don’t get an electronic viewfinder, but many EVFs in ultra-compact cameras are so small and cumbersome to use, you might not miss out on much. Another compromise to save space is the 3x zoom lens. The maximum aperture of f / 2 is respectable, but with an equivalent maximum magnification of 84mm, it has been reduced to a meager f / 4.9. But if you don’t mind the limited zoom range, the G9 X is the best travel camera when you want to spend a little but still get image quality for a 1-inch sensor.
